"Suburban" Thesis Statement

Portraying a lighthearted exchange between neighbors in "Suburban",  John Ciardi utilizes situational irony, subtle sarcasm, and comedy of manners in order to display the importance of a healthy relationship between neighbors in a suburban environment where everything is so close knit.

  1. Very well written, but I would revise the universal idea at the end because it is not as strong as the rest of the sentence.

  2. I like your introduction phrase. I also like the devices you chose and the adjectives you paired them with. Good job!

  3. First, I would like to acknowledge the fairy dust my mouse cursor suddenly gets whenever I visit your page. It's cute. Anyhow, I like your thesis. Your universal idea is chill. I don' know about everyone else but I usually over analyze and over think this part, so your keeping it concise, simple and neat is cool. Your device "comedy of manners" confused me for a second. But I think that was just me. Solid stuff. Consider changing up the verb from
"utilizes"; it gets used a lot and kinda gets bland after a while.
